Moorhouse Construction was established in 1992 by brothers Ian and Mark Moorhouse undertaking domestic projects such as extensions to properties, property improvements and general building. Following six years of steady growth Moorhouse Construction became incorporated as a limited company in November 1998.

In order to sustain their growth, the Directors took the company into the commercial market place and began to undertake civil engineering and building contracts for national quarrying companies and regional manufacturing companies.

The company still continues to work with its long established customers and has recently undertaken inner city re-development works to create student accommodation in the city of Leicester.

We have recently re-located to new offices / works to cope with this demand for our services.

We have a wide variety of project experience (details of which can be found by clicking the Services Menu links on our home page), within most aspects of the civil engineering and building industry with a specialist knowledge of quarry plant foundations and the associated infrastructure such as weighbridge foundations, material holding pens, water containment sumps, reinforced concrete paving, office buildings, retaining walls and wheel wash civils.

Our company is dedicated to providing close attention to all enquiries and orders and offers a very personal service to all our customers through from initial enquiry to job completion. We have sufficient experience within our industry to be able to suggest to customers ways that they may save money during a project by adapting their scheme or using alternative materials where appropriate, conversely, we can advise on schemes that we think may benefit from an improvement in the proposed specification.

We undertake commercial and domestic projects with an approximate value of between £1000 and £800,000 and can provide references for any potential customer who wishes to find the re-assurance associated with word-of-mouth recommendations before placing any orders with us. We have undertaken contracts all over the United Kingdom with previous jobs taking us to Glasgow, Devon, North Wales and Newcastle upon Tyne, Lincoln and central London and we can provide a list of sites where our work may be viewed.

We are used to working to extremely tight deadlines, under pressure, and make health and safety of all those connected with our contracts a high priority.

We have an excellent health and safety record and are proud of our record of having no lost time accidents in the history of the company. All our operatives have CPA quarry safety passports and have qualifications for all the skills they are likely to encounter in their working day such as Slinger / Banksman, abrasive wheels, first aid and plant operation. Direct supervision from competent foreman ensures control over the quality of our work and the attitude of our workforce, which is second to none.

We are experienced in working under CDM conditions and have acted as Principle Contractor on a number of projects involving a wide variety of sub-contractors.

For each and every job we undertake, we provide a health and safety file which includes a thorough job-specific risk assessment and method statement as standard.
